MP3 sounds comin' at ya direct from the beaches and strips of

1960's U.S.A.

WELCOME TO THE AUDIO section of the site!

On this page you'll be able to access and hear a number of original surf and hot-rod recordings from the 60's that have been selected especially for your delights !

When we find the time (sadly too irregularly for our liking) we'll update the lists and so the more you come back, the more you get to hear !

Simply make your choice from the listings below - and then click on the appropriate audio link !

AUDIO LINK 1 features: Swimtime USA

The Lifeguards (aka Sloan & Barri - The Fantastic Baggys) catch onto a new dance craze, take it all the way to the surf crowd ... and then sadly slip into obscurity. Great fun !

Are there any particular tracks that we've reviewed on this site that you'd like us to feature on the audio links ?

Email us and let us know !

AUDIO LINK 2 features: Ride The Wild Surf

Not Jan & Dean ... not even the same tune. But this surf instro (a virtual rewrite of "Baja") is performed by The Falling Leaves, under the guise of the Fantastic Baggys - and it appeared as the title track on the (South African-only) Baggys second album ! Rare as h**l and it rips !!

AUDIO LINK 3 features: We Built A 409

Dismiss these cheap surf'n'drag budget albums coming out of Nashville if you will ... but this lovely lil' toon, credited to The Jalopy Five, pays due homage to the originators of the surf 'vocal' sound ... and I LIKE IT !

AUDIO LINK 4 features: Sting Ray

Great outtake from the original Rip Chords sessions ... and listen right at the start for confirmation that Phil and Ernie WERE involved in these recordings !

SOME OF THE GREAT TUNES PREVIOUSLY FEATURED ON THIS PAGE ...
